This week on tips - Uses for AirTags and alternatives brands, Personal AI assistant for free (for now)
Hello dear reader,
This week I will show you things I have been using, and I will be starting to use them given certain circumstances in life. Welcome to edition XVII!
Before entering the tips for this week, I want to pose a question to you:
What activities/products/people/actions have contributed to most of my results over the past week?
This is one of the questions I found in an article about doing a weekly review of your life. It has the objective of helping you reflect, and I wanted to share that question precisely because it suits the topic of this weekly issue.
Think about it and check if something needs to be discarded and if something’s missing. I acknowledge that it not only refers to things and products, but it’s part of the entirety of the questioning.
Different ways to use an Apple AirTag and the alternatives
There’s been a few occasions already over the last six months that I have said: “I need a tracker for my personal belongings.” And they exist; one of the most popular is the Apple AirTags.
They track devices you connect to your iCloud account and locate your items—for example, keys, bags, etc.
There are multiple scenarios in which you can use them, there is an article showing 15 ways, and I will give you one of them here:
KEEP TABS ON YOUR LUGGAGE WHILE TRAVELING.
It is always a good idea nowadays to know where your luggage is, especially when you have connecting flights.
Alternatives to AirTags
The website Android Authority shares research they did, and you can read the whole article or look at the list below:
The Samsung SmartTag is the best option if you’re a Samsung user. It’s closely integrated with the platform and tightly connected to Samsung’s network.
The Tile Pro is an excellent option if you want an AirTag, a very durable alternative. Tile is also among the most popular tracker makers outside the big brands.
The Chipolo One is simple, functional, and affordable. It also happens to have a loud volume.
The Cube Shadow is super thin and light, perfect for those who don’t want a bulky tracker.
The Cube GPS Tracker is a much more advanced tracker that features GPS. It requires a paid subscription, but you won’t find better tracking in other alternatives.
Using ChatGPT as a personal assistant
English is not my first language, and I did not major in software development. Because of these facts, I have been using the most talked about AI tool for the last few weeks: ChatGPT; if you don’t know what it is by now, then check this out.
I have asked ChatGPT to explain terms for me to correct pieces of code in Python during my practices in DataCamp.
I have requested ChatGPT to change the tone of a message in English.
I have asked ChatGPT to think like “Introduce profession” and answer specific questions.
It has undoubtedly helped me work faster, correct, and understand topics quicker, ultimately improving the learning pace. On this last point, I found this website that shares knowledge on providing prompts to ChatGPT to gain the most of it. The article talks specifically about learning: Learn things *much* faster using AI.
ChatGPT has two versions, the free version, and the plus version. The latter costs 20 dollars a month, and it lets you access to the latest and better version of ChatGPT, GPT-4.
This is it for now. Please share it with your friends, coworkers, family, classmates - anyone that might find these weekly tips useful.
Wishing you a wonderful week filled with positive energy and boundless inspiration!
Take care,
Fernando
