This week on tips - Google's Bard makes the AI arena scramble and Work From Home Setting Inspiration
Hello dear reader,
I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but the global temperature of the planet has been rising, and we are not at the highest point, so things will get hotter in here (i.e., the planet); look at this chart:
The chart to your right has three projections, where Representative Concentration Pathways (RCPs) are basically different scenarios that scientists have created to predict what might happen to our planet's climate. Each one is based on how much extra heat from the sun, called "radiative forcing," we might have by the year 2100. The more greenhouse gases we pump into the atmosphere, the more heat gets trapped, leading to more radiative forcing.
This is a quote from the source article, I converted Fahrenheit to Celcius as everyone else except the US uses Celcius for temperature:
According to the 2017 U.S. Climate Science Special Report, if yearly emissions continue to increase rapidly, as they have since 2000, models project that by the end of this century, global temperature will be at least 2.8 degrees Celsius warmer than the 1901-1960 average, and possibly as much as 5.7 degrees Celsius warmer. If annual emissions increase more slowly and begin to decline significantly by 2050, models project temperatures would still be at least 1.3 degrees Celsius warmer than the first half of the 20th century, and possibly up to 3.3 degrees Celsius warmer.
To summarize, I am concerned and seeking an update on current affairs. I want to explore actionable steps beyond just reducing and recycling, such as policy changes that could influence industries to shift their behavior and have a greater impact on reducing carbon emissions beyond individual actions. I encourage you to do the same.
With that said, welcome to week XXIV. Let’s dive into it.
Google's Bard makes the AI arena scramble
In the last few days, Google launched their improved version of their AI Generative Model known as “Bard.” One of the most impactful things I see is the capability of Bard to access information from the internet, which makes it a powerful tool to obtain up-to-date data to interact with. It has come with a huge impact with multiple tools. The most obvious one, integration with Gmail and Google Docs to the most revolutionary ones: Bard Now Also Has Plugins 🧩
They have access to:
Spotify (music)
Walmart (shopping)
Indeed (job search)
Uber Eats (food delivery)
Adobe Firefly (image creation)
Go ahead and explore this new evolution; it is a lot of fun and can help you save a ton of time by using all these tools as support in your daily life. I suggest you sit down for a couple of hours and check what you can automatize or get support with one of those tools; it can benefit you in the short and long term.
Work From Home Setting Inspiration
I have been improving my Work From Home (WFH) setting for the past few months, as I spent half of my week in that station. I recently stumbled upon a Twitter Account that shares WFH settings for people to get inspired. It does not mean that you should have exactly those items, but it can definitively help you identify elements that would make your space nicer and more attractive to work.
Look at these:

A dying plant 🪴 ? Let’s see if you can bring it back to flourish
From the VI edition, we are resharing a tip for those who have a plant in the line between death and life. If the plant is not too far gone (this assessment it’s essential, your name is not mother nature, and there are some limits), you may be able to bring it back with some TLC. First, assess the plant and determine what may be causing the problem. Is it getting enough light? Water? Nutrients? Once you have determined the cause, take steps to correct the issue.
I found the following tips online, and they are reasonable steps to follow after your initial assessment: Plant Resuscitation: 7 Tricks To Bring Dead Plants Back To Life
That's all for this edition!
