Hello dear reader,
This is my first-week sharing useful stuff I have found online. How I share this knowledge, tools, and websites will be straightforward. Anything that I think can be helpful to improve your life I will share here weekly.
I will create categories or sections in the post depending on the type of content and check how this format evolves over time. If you have any feedback, reply to this email and start a conversation.
Climate Change
This past week we saw the performative actions to grasp the attention towards the urgently needed actions to tackle climate change.
Activists throw tomato soup on Van Gogh’s Sunflowers at National Gallery
Whether you are in favour or against the action, I wanted to share this website that allows you to generate a simulation of a flood, wildfire or smog in any available city in Google Maps using Artificial Intelligence:
Website: This Climate Does Not Exist
This is a simulation of the place where I am living that the moment; I would be pretty scared to wake up to this. You can use this type of tool to illustrate multiple examples in talks, discussions or simply to share in your social media to create awareness.
PS: I watched one of David Attenborough's documentaries on Netflix, and he mentioned a few things that struck my attention:
1. 15 billion trees are cut down each year (THAT’S A LOT - To put it in perspective, that’s Twenty-seven soccer fields worth of trees are cut down every minute.),
2. ½ All Fertile Land Is Made Up Of Farmland - he mentioned that increasing our consumption of plant-based meals could dramatically help to reduce land usage for farmland which degrades the soil sometimes permanently.
Recording step-by-step online
If you need to show someone how to do something online often, it’s 100% better to show them images of how to do it instead of sending long texts or voice notes that will probably end up in an online meeting. Scribe helps you turn any process into a step-by-step guide instantly.
We used it to create the example of how to get the embed code of a YouTube video:
Names for your business ideas or anything really
If you have a business idea and don’t know how to name it well, there is a website to help you, namelix. Generate a short, brandable business name using artificial intelligence FOR FREE. Make sure to get the patent for it later.
Here’s an example of what I got by putting the keywords: “weekly”, “tips”, “useful”, “tools”:
This is it for now. I will share more stuff next Monday. If you have anything that you would want me to put on the next issue, reply to this email, and if you found it useful, please share it with everyone:
Have a good week,
Fernando
Super useful! Thanks for the tips!
